Would you like to help us care for our non-releasable raptors?

Are you a teacher looking for an exciting way to teach about environmental responsibility?

Do you need a great gift idea for that special someone who has everything?

Hawks Aloft's Adopt-a-Raptor Program might be just what you are looking for!

Adopt-a-Raptor

When you 'adopt' one of our educational raptors you are providing a donation that will be used exclusively for the care of our birds.

Upon adopting a raptor, you will receive:

a card thanking you for your donation
an 8 x 10" frameable photo of your bird
a description of the bird's history
 one-year Hawks Aloft membership

If you are adopting a raptor as a gift, your gift recipient will receive everything mentioned above, along with a card of the appropriate nature (holiday, birthday, etc.).  Please don't forget to tell us what the occasion is!

If you are a teacher who's class is adopting a raptor, you will receive everything mentioned above in addition to a coloring book with information about raptors and animals in North America, an educational packet filled with information and activities appropriate to your grade level(s), and 50% off a single-visit education program for your class with your adopted bird (A $62.50 value for programs within Albuquerque!).

Why do we have these birds?

All of our birds are permanently injured and require continued care throughout their lives.  Much of our donations go towards providing our raptors with a quality diet, equipment, housing, and covering necessary medical expenses.

How does the Adopt-a-Raptor Program work?

When you sponsor one of our educational raptors you are providing a donation that will be used exclusively for the care of our birds.  You also become a member of Hawks Aloft for one year, which entitles you to receive three issues of Aloft per year and our monthly e-newsletter, the HAI Flier.  You or your gift recipient will receive a card notifying him or her of the generous gift in their name, certificate with a picture of the bird, a description of its history and other biological information, and a notecard featuring a full-color photo.  Additionally, Adopt-a-Raptors make great classroom mascots.  Classrooms that Adopt-a-Raptor receive educational material appropriate to the age of the kids, as well as many of the items described above.
